Get a $100 rebate towards a Premium 1.1 gpf (or less) toilet. Where gift cards or credits bring the total cost of the toilet below $100, a rebate check will be issued for the lesser amount.

Rebates are available on qualifying Premium 1.1 gpf (or less) toilets on the Eligible Toilet List (pdf). Premium toilets use 1.1 gallons per flush (gpf) or less compared to the 3.5 gpf or more used by toilets installed prior to 1994. Premium toilets are the most efficient of EPA’s WaterSense-labeled models. Premium toilets use 20% less water and remove 70% more solid waste, compared to regular WaterSense toilets.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Customers must reside within the Saving Water Partnership service area.
  • Only 1.1 gpf or less Premium toilets are eligible for the rebate. Use this list of toilets (pdf) to find qualifying toilets. Toilets may be in stock at the stores or easily ordered.
  • Only single-family residences and duplexes with separate utility bills are eligible.
  • Existing toilets must be pre-2004 and have not previously received a rebate.
  • The application must be submitted within 60 days of purchasing the new toilet.
  • Maximum of two (2) rebates per household.

Take These Steps

  1. Buy a Premium 1.1 gpf (or less) toilet from this list of toilets (pdf). You can purchase Premium toilets from a variety of retailers, including these local retailers (pdf). Toilets may be in stock at the stores or easily ordered.
  2. Fill out a rebate application
  3. Send these three items to the address below:
    • Signed, completed application.
    • Purchase receipt that includes the brand and model number of the new Premium 1.1 gpf (or less) toilet(s).
    • Copy of water bill.

How do I dispose of my old toilet?

Sprinkler Timer

Residential customers may be eligible to receive a $100 rebate for one WaterSense certified sprinkler timer. Where gift cards or store credit bring the total cost of the timer below $100, a rebate check will be issued for the lesser amount.

Eligible customers are those who receive water from one of these Saving Water partners.

The rebate is for the replacement of an existing controller that is not currently WaterSense certified.

Irrigation Technical Assistance (one acre of irrigated area or more)

  • Residential customers with more than one acre of existing irrigated area may be eligible to receive financial and technical assistance. On-site assessments to evaluate the efficiency of automatic irrigation systems including watering schedules.
  • Discussion of potential efficiency improvements to automatic irrigation systems. Irrigation technology that improves the efficiency of an irrigation system and saves water qualifies for a rebate.

Irrigation Utility Billing Analysis (one acre of irrigated area or more)

  • Billing, consumption and ROI analysis.

Landscape Rebate (one acre of irrigated area or more)

  • The Saving Water Partnership may provide up to 50% of the cost for irrigation upgrades that save water. Upgrades include irrigation technologies such as sprinkler heads, rain sensors, scheduling devices, controllers, etc. that improve the water efficiency of an existing irrigation system. To get started, please complete and submit the rebate application (pdf).

Multifamily Toilet Replacement

Get a $100 rebate towards replacing old toilets with Premium 1.1 gpf (or less) toilets and watch your building water use decrease by 30-40%.

  • $100 rebate per toilet towards 1.1 gpf or less Premium toilets. Where gift cards or credits bring the total cost of the toilet below $100, a rebate check will be issued for the lesser amount.
  • Eligible costs include toilet bowl, tank, tax.
  • View case studies of program participants.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Building must have at least four units and ALL old toilets must be replaced.
  • Building must be located in the Saving Water Partnership service area.
  • Existing toilets must be pre-2004 and have not previously received a Saving Water Partnership rebate.
  • Replacement toilets must be on this list of Premium Toilets to qualify.

Take These Steps

  • Mail, fax or submit a completed application:
  • Wait for authorization. You should receive an authorization letter or phone call within two weeks. If you do not, please call Billie Fisher at (206) 615-1282.
  • Buy and install toilets. (Reminder: Replacement toilets must be 1.1 gpf (or less)) You can purchase toilets from a variety of retailers, including your vendor or distributor, and these local retailers (pdf).
  • Submit project completion information which will be included in the authorization letter.

Flush Valve Toilets and Urinals

$100 per fixture for replacing older flush-valve toilets and urinals (both porcelain and valve must be replaced) with high-efficiency toilets (HET) and WaterSense-approved urinals. Where gift cards or credits bring the total cost of the toilet below $100, a rebate check will be issued for the lesser amount.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Fixtures must be installed in a business located in the Saving Water Partnership service area.
  • New toilets must be 1.28 gpf (gallons per flush) or less WaterSense high-efficiency (HET). Existing toilets must be 3 gallons per flush or greater.
  • In the case of replacing older code-compliant (1.6 gpf) fixtures with WaterSense-certified and/or HET fixtures, rebates will be determined on a case-by-case basis and subject to available funding.
  • New urinals must be WaterSense-certified models. Existing urinals must be 1.0 gallons per flush or greater.

  • After you receive pre-approval, move ahead with your project. Buy and install eligible WaterSense-approved urinal fixtures.

  • Single-pass refrigeration
  • Once-through oil coolers on Carrier Chillers.

Rebates for steamers, dish washers and ice machines

  • Up to $750 to install Energy Star food steamers. Where gift cards or credits bring the total cost of the steamer below $750, a rebate check will be issued for the lesser amount.
  • Up to $1,500 to install Energy Star dishwashers. Where gift cards or credits bring the total cost of the dishwasher below $1,500, a rebate check will be issued for the lesser amount.
  • Up to $300 to install top-tier CEE-rated commercial ice-makers. Where gift cards or credits bring the total cost of the ice-maker below $300, a rebate check will be issued for the lesser amount.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Fixtures must be installed in a business located in the Saving Water Partnership service area.
  • Due to current energy code requirements for efficiency, Seattle businesses are not eligible for steamer and dishwasher rebates.

  • Obtain list of eligible products from your equipment supplier.
  • Purchase and install eligible efficient machines.
  • Complete and send rebate request with a copy of invoice (separate labor, parts charges, and taxes).
